How to Achieve Weight Loss the Right Way

Throughout the years we have seen many fat free diets or programs promoted. They have reached certain hype and then disappeared. The reason is that these diet programs are not a sustainable way of living your life. They might help you to get started, but then you need to find your way in the long run.

Exercising, pushing yourself, trying to burn calories does not always lead to weight loss.  Sometimes all this hard pushing can actually lead to weight gain!

We all have our internal dialogues, criticizing our body, what you are eating. “If only you could do more exercise and eat more healthy. Then I would achieve my goals and be at my best with my body.”

The dialogue usually causes stress, holding up breath and feel bad about yourself.

This is normal, I have done this. Its a common behavior, but no one is talking about it.  Take a deep breath, stop and reflect on how your behavior and well being is. Then, you can start to decide on who you want to be. Creating a vision on what you want to achieve or be.

It begins with your mind. It is easy to be stuck in making up for all our unhealthy behavior. Always punishing ourselves. All the bad information out there on calorie burning and getting rid of fat does not help.

If we become aggressive as a response to stress it reflects in how you exercise and eat. Most likely without any thought.

Tension in brain leads to tense habits.  Emotional and over-eating to survive will only result in continuing bad habits.

Everything Starts with Your Mind

Exercise must lead to positive change in our eating habits. Otherwise it will not result in a healthier more balanced life.  That is why it is so important to find an activity that you enjoy doing.

Loving your choice of activity causes a different reaction in your brain. No matter what it is running, power walking, yoga or karate, as long as it is your choice. You will start to treat yourself better.

Doing what you love leads you to be more mindful about your own well being and health. Activities that makes you connected and relaxed reinforce habits that create the same feelings.  Activities that makes you anxious and stressed have a bad influence on your habits.

Focus on finding that activity that makes you feel good about yourself. This results in you wanting to continue to practice this activity for your benefit.

By doing your activity with ease your brain will flow in creativity and intuition.  This sounds a lot like mediation, and it is. Existing in ease, every moment in life becomes meditative and give room to grow.  To breathe, to release tension, to create the happy and healthy life you deserve.

You don´t want a life of tension in your activities because the brain will have no space to grow.  You will end up moving without understanding, seeing or feeling yourself. Likely end up in tension driven activities, over eating and drinking, frustrated in life.

Instead start by being mindful about of who you are today and how you can change. Be mindful about what you are eating. Is it making you feel good? Be mindful about your activities. Do the make you feel happy afterwards or was it just another task to complete?

Just remember that exercising on its own has little to do with weight loss. How you live has to do with weight loss. How you handle stress, has to do with weight loss.  Creating a peaceful connection to yourself, you will start to breathe better. Focusing on more healthier, balanced lifestyle choices.  Remember, exercise is useless unless you find your balance in what you eat.

You are what you eat and your exercise motivate you to want healthier choices in food.
